personal.  |

This past June we had the great opportunity of traveling to Maryland and North Carolina to visit with family and I’ve been long over-due for posting these photos.  Too much activity during the summer has me putting off personal photo work.  Recently a friend and photographer posted some pics of his family and that gave me the final inspiration I needed to finish up some editing on a few of my fav family pics.  Apparently my daughter is a sand-eater…..

family.  |  Closed

I had the priveledge of photographing Chris & Cristina’s wedding in Galveston, TX last July 2008 and we came back together just before they moved back from KC to Texas for a family session this past August 2009.  They have a beautiful baby girl who was just starting to lift her head up.  It was really hot and humid outside so we stuck to indoors and then stepped outside just before sunset as it cooled off.  you wish you had this wicker chair, dont you……

engagement.  |  Closed

Monica and Daniel are both finishing up college.  Monica is here in Kansas City but Daniel is out in San Diego (must be nice!). Once their summer breaks hit, we connected all the dots and met here in KC to seal the deal. Since their both college students and Monica used to frequent her university library we kicked around the idea of doing part of the engagement session in the huge downtown KC library.  It was a bit awkward for a few mins, but we found a corner tucked away from the crowded parts of the library and had a blast…we followed it up with some nice shots at dusk over at the Nelson Atkins Museum just a block away.  No books were harmed during these photos…monica_blog0001

so i recently picked up the Orbis Ringlight adapter for my Canon EX flashes and have finally gotten around to testing it out.  I had to set-up a quick headshot session at the IHOP-KC Marketing office and i brought the Orbis along to have some fun in between the standard shots.  Here’s the results.
